El tiempo pasa muy rápido a así también crece el Hostal!

Es muy difícil dirigir, controlar, manejar y hacer funcionar un Hostal totalmente solo y además que siempre hay proyectos andando y nuevas cosas que hay que implementar  y mejorar en el Hostal. Por eso necesito un poco de ayuda de mis amigos los voluntarios.

Este post está dedicado a los voluntarios que ayudaron durante todo el año en el proyecto y en el Hostal con diferentes trabajos y poniendo su buena energía para sacar adelante al Hostal!

The time rushes on this year and so grows the popularity of the Hostel!

It is very difficult to control, manage and operate a Hostel all alone and there are always running projects and new things to implement and improve. So I need a little help from my friends; the volunteers.

This post is dedicated to the volunteers who helped throughout the year with different projects in the Hostel and putting their good energy and vibes!

The spring is coming.

Que hace un voluntario o como se puede ser voluntario?

Pues el trato es: Quien quiera ser parte del equipo del Hostal y tener una experiencia diferente a solo viajar y ser un turista, puede escribirme y mostrar su interés de alguna forma (click here). A cambio de la ayuda brindada, se ofrece comida y estadía. Muchas personas traen talentos especiales y estos son muy útiles,  pero también hay gente que ayuda en el que hacer cotidiano del Hostal!

What does a volunteer or how can you be a volunteer?

So the deal is: Who wants to be part of the team and Hostal and want to have a different experience than just traveling and being a tourist, can write me and showing his interest in any way (click here). In exchange for the offered help I offer free food and accommodation. Many people bring special talents that are very useful, but there are also people who help with everyday stuff to do at Hostel!

Luisa y Hannes

Unos de los primeros voluntarios (en abril) que estuvieron ayudando aquí en Hostal era la pareja de Berlin; Luisa y Hannes. Ellos ayudaron con diversas tareas y también ayudaron a pintar los ladrillos de la Suite, un trabajo que requería mucha paciencia y buen humor! Ellos también tienen un blog de su viaje por Sudamérica…(visit their blog ). Lo bueno de gente como Luisa y Hannes, es que no solo quieren un lugar donde dormir y comida, más bien quieren ser parte de la cultura del lugar, practicar el idioma y también quieren ayudar y sentirse parte del proyecto. Ahora seguimos siendo buenos amigos y espero visitarlos en Berlín pronto. Gracias por la ayuda Chicos!

One of the first volunteers (in April) who were helping here at Hostal was the young couple from Berlin, Germany; Lusa and Hannes . They helped with various tasks and also helped painting  the bricks of the Suite, a job that required a lot of patience and good humor! They also have a blog of their trip through South America … (visit their blog here). People like Luisa and Hannes , are not only looking for a place to sleep and free food, they want rather to learn more and be part of the local culture, practice the language and to help and feel part of a project. Now we are good friends and hope to visit them in Berlin soon. Thanks for the help guys !

Magdalena (Magdalenka) es otra de las voluntarias que vino a ser parte del recuerdo en el Hostal. Ella trajo mucha energía al lugar y siempre estaba muy activa. Ella vino en Agosto.

Magdalena es de Polonia y estaba viajando por bastantes meses por Sudamérica y durante su viaje trabajaba de voluntaria en diferentes lugares. Durante su estadía aquí ayudo pintando lugares en la entrada, arreglando el suelo de la Suite, limpiando el jardín y con tareas cotidianas del Hostal. Gracias Magdalenka!

Magdalena (Magdalenka) is another of the volunteers who came to help and be part of the Hostel memories. She brought a lot of energy to the place and was always very active. She came in August.

Magdalena is from Poland and was traveling for several months in South America and during her trip she worked as a volunteer in different places. During her stay here, she helped painting the place at the entrance, fixing the floor of the Suite, cleaning the garden and many more. Thanks Magdalenka !

Otro de los voluntarios que vino en septiembre fue Loic. Él es de Francia y esta viajando al dedo desde hace más de dos años por todo el mundo. él es ingeniero de sistemas y en su estancia en el Hostal ayudó no solo a pintar y dar un toque al Hostal o a y tender a los clientes, él también hizo la página web del Hostal con una calidad increíble. Anteriormente había dado la tarea a una agencia en Hamburgo (qube medien) pero el página era para tirarla a la basura. Loic diseñó la mejor página que se haya podido haber hecho para el Hostal (visita la página web aquí). Merci amigo!

Another volunteer who came in September was Loic . He is from France and is traveling hitchhiking over two years worldwide . He is a systems engineer and at his stay at the Hostal helped not only painting, or with the customers; he also made the Hostel website with an amazing quality. I had previously given the task to an agency in Hamburg (qube medien) but the webpage they made was to throw it away. Loic designed the best website that I could ever imagine for the Hostel (visit the webpage here). Merci Amigo!

Maiko es una voluntaria que vive en La Paz y viene cada fin de semana desde hace tres meses para ayudar en el Hostal. Ella trabaja en una organización japonesa en La Paz como profesora de artesanías y enseña técnicas de tinte natural.

Maiko Tiene diferentes talentos y está siempre dispuesta a ayudar. Ella no solo siempre ayuda en las tareas cotidianas del Hostal, sino también costuró las cortinas para la sala común y participó de la exposición de arte textil que tuvimos en el Hostal hace un par de meses. Arigato Maiko San!

Maiko is a volunteer who lives in La Paz and comes every weekend since the last three months to help. She works for a Japanese organization in La Paz as a teacher for textile design and teaches natural dye techniques.

Maiko has different talents and is always willing to help. She does not only help with the everyday stuff at the Hostel, then she also made the curtains for the common room and participated in the exhibition of textile art we had in the Hostel a couple months ago. Arigato Maiko San!

Para el proyecto de pintar el mural llegó Sam. Ella es de Sudáfrica está viajando por Sudamérica desde hace un par de meses.

Es solamente dos semanas que pudo quedarse acá en el Hostal, Sam pintó un increíble mural en la entrada del Hostal. El mural le da un toque más alternativo y llamativo al Hostal que Sam ideó rápidamente en su estadía como voluntaria y con solamente poco material trabajó en él. Gracias Sam!

For the mural project came Sam. She is from South Africa and she is traveling around South America since a couple of months ago.

In only two weeks stay here at the Hostel, Sam painted an amazing mural at the Hostel entrance. The mural gives a colorful and happy touch to Hostel. Sam knew very quickly how to go on and what to do. She worked with only little material on it and made a huge thing out of it. Thank you Sam!

Opening and Bathrooms part 3/3

Hello everybody!

First of all I want to thank you all those who are sending me emails with feedbacks and other nice thoughts. I know that there are many family members, friends and other followers who constantly watch the blog. I want to specially thank to all the people from fundraiser that contributed to make this project a reality. Without you this project wouldn´t be possible. You are part of Hostal Chawi. I want to also apologize for not keeping  you  updated with the state of things at the hostel.

Antes que nada  quisiera agradecer a todos aquellos que me estuvieron últimamente mandando e-mails con opiniones bonitas. También hay familiares a quienes agradezco juntamente con amigos y seguidores del blog.  En esta oportunidad quiero disculparme por haber descuidado el blog últimamente.

 

I am so happy to communicate you that the hostel has been running since a couple of months and is very successful.  The last couple of days I have been reading reviews from some of the guests at the Hostelworld website and I am extremely happy to hear that the people really like the hostel, the food, the atmosphere and enjoy being here.  It is very nice to see that the project is really turning into reality and the results of a one year arduous work are fully satisfactory.

Es un placer y una alegría comunicarles que el hostal está funcionando desde hace un par de meses  y es todo un éxito. Durante los últimos días he estado siguiendo los comentarios que pone la gente en la página web de hostelworld y estoy extremadamente feliz de leer que a la gente le encanta el lugar, la comida, la atmosfera del hostal y realmente disfrutan el estar acá. Es muy satisfactorio ver que el proyecto después de un año de arduo trabajo finalmente está dando sus frutos.

This post is about the last part of the bathroom´s constructions. As you saw in the second part we already have finished the skeleton of the building and now we are going to install all the missing part such us doors, toilets, showers and shower curtains.

Esta vez les contaré sobre la última parte de la construcción de los baños.

Como leyeron en la segunda parte de la historia, la obra bruta de la construcción ya estaba lista y ahora falta terminar con la instalación de algunas cosas más, como ser: duchas, inodoros, puertas y cortinas de las duchas.

I had in mind some ideas for two bathrooms. First I designed the doors and gave the contract to the carpenter.  While the doors were being made, Felix put the stucco on the walls until the surfaces were flat.

Para hacer el terminado de los dos sanitarios se me vinieron un par de ideas a la mente. Primeramente diseñé la forma de las puertas y le di el contrato al carpintero que tiene su taller muy cerca al hostal.

Mientras las puertas están siendo construidas, Felix se puso a estucar las paredes hasta que estas quedaron lizas y adecuadas para ser pintadas. El color que elegí para pintar los sanitarios era bastante claro pero no blanco. Quería que haya bastante claridad ya que el suelo era de color oscuro.

The next day I started to attach the doors, which was actually very difficult because each door weights almost 40 kilograms. To protect the door from humidity I covered it with one layer of organic linseed oil.

Cuando terminé con la pintura sólo había que instalar los inodoros antes de poner las puertas, lo que no fue nada fácil ya que las puertas pesaban como 40Kg. Después de esto pasé un par de capas de aceite de linaza a las puertas para que sean más resistentes a la humedad del lugar.

For the showers I thought to use bright colors simply because I really like them and I think that they harmonize with the surrounding.

Para las duchas escogí colores muy alegres, simplemente por que me gustaba mucho la idea de que se sintiera más alegre el lugar al ducharse y también combinaba con el ambiente de naturaleza que hay saliendo de estas

After having the showers installed and the curtains hanged the work was finished. It felt great to take a shower knowing that this place was built with your own hands.

Una vez instaladas las duchas y colocadas la cortinas, tuve el placer de ser el primero en bañarse en estas y pues quedé mus satisfecho de la obra y también con el sentimiento complaciente que se tiene al haber construido y diseñado el lugar por tus propios medios.

There are still some time consuming things to be done with the outside part of the wall. When I was wondering how to proceed with the work I thought about the decoration of the houses in Chefchaouen (Morocco), which gave me inspiration and some ideas.

Para terminar la obra, aún hay que trabajar en la parte del frente de los baños y esto no es un trabajo que tome poco tiempo. Antes de comenzar, necesitaba una idea de como pintar este lugar.

El trabajo de cubrir la fachada con cemento y arena, no era nada fácil, ya que era la primera vez que hacía algo así en una pared tan grande.  La parte más difícil era que todo quede más o menos  con la superficie pareja.

Mientas revocaba la pared con una mezcla de cemento y arena, me recordé de las lindas casas que habían en Chefchaouen Marruecos que vi hace un par de años atrás cuando estaba ahí y el color azul claro de estas me pareció una buen opción para el lugar.

I started covering the wall with a mix of sand and cement. This work took me very long, because it requires lots of practice and experience. I had never made this kind of work on such a big wall before, but I somehow managed to do it.

To make the wall look more cheerful I thought about drawing a Gecko, which seemed to me a good idea, because it wasn´t so complicated as other designs and it brings some kind of joy, in my opinion.

Para que tenga un detalle que le dé un toque más interesante y creativo, se me ocurrió en dibujar un gueco en la pared y también le hice un relieve para que parezca más llamativo.

Finally everything was ready to start painting. After a few hours the work was done and I was very pleased with the results.

I have received very nice compliments about the showers from the costumers and I’m very happy that the people like them.

Finalmente comencé a pintar la fachada y después de un par de horas el trabajo estaba hecho.

Muchos clientes me dijeron que les gusta mucho los baños y las duchas, lo cual me alegra mucho ya que esa es la mejor parte de hacer un trabajo:)

Stairways to the patio. Las gradas de Piedra

In February we were continuing working on new Projects and and receiving guests… so did the work  increase but also diversify.So we began with the next project the: The stairs. We needed the new stairs to connect the upstairs  patio with the new bathrooms, the terrace, the bedrooms and the downstairs patio.

En febrero los trabajos seguían y también ya estábamos recibiendo a nuestros primeros alojados… Así que el trabajo  aumentaba y se diversificaba también. Ahí es cuando el trabajo de las gradas comenzó. El sentido de construir estas gradas era el de unir el Patio de arriba y el de abajo, junto con los baños y las habitaciones. Con estas gradas todos estos estaría más conectados de forma más rápida, ya que antes se usaban las gradas que están al otro lado y había que dar toda una vuelta para subir o bajar.

Seit Februar hatten wir, neben all den baulichen Arbeiten, schon die ersten Gäste empfangen. Das bedeutete zusätzliche Arbeit, aber auch eine willkommene Abwechslung.

Wir starteten das nächste Projekt: Der Bau der Treppen. Diese soll die Verbindung zwischen den neuen Toiletten, den Gästezimmern und der Terrasse des anderen Gebäudes herstellen. Dort befindet sich eine große Fläche, die für die Bar und eine Tanzfläche gedacht ist.

Für die neuen Treppen Brauchen wir Flusssteine und Sand.

To build the stairs we needed first more river stones and sand.

After deciding the size that stairs would have, we used a wooden board to make the shape of the stairs and then a thread to establish the inclination that stairs should have. To build the stairs you have to put the stones one next to the other and the cement/sand mix between the stones. The nice side of the stone must be to the outside.

Después de decidir  el tamaño que tendrían las gradas, pues el trabajo consiste en alinear una madera al nivel que uno quiere las gradas y con un hilo medir la inclinación que uno quiere tener.  Después hay que poner las piedras una al lado de la otra con la mezcla de cemento de forma en que la parte más bonita de la piedra esté a la vista.

How to build stairs with stones

 

Nachdem wir das Mass für die Treppen haben, müssen wir uns mit einem Brett helfen, um den Stufen die gewünschte Form zu geben. Mit einem Draht wird die Neigung der Stufen festgelegt, damit das Regenwasser abfließen kann.

Jetzt werden die Steine verlegt. Wir reihen sie aneinander, mit der  schöneren Seite nach oben, und gießen dann mit Zement aus.

Das wird sechzehn mal wiederholt.

Las gradas están listas y lo próximo que será hecho en este lugar es un jardín de flores y plantas comestibles a los lados de las gradas… Pero ya que estamos ahora en la temporada de sol y poca lluvia, hay que esperar un poco para proceder al trabajo. Mientras nos dedicaremos a cosechar frutas cítricas y café.

The work is finished and the next thing I´m thinking to put here, are a flowers garden and some veggies like tomatoes,  paprika, zucchini, some chilies, basil and others. The thing is… we are now in the sunny dry season and we are gonna have to wait a little to start planting the stuff. Until we wait, we are gonna harvest some mandarins, oranges, lemons and some coffee.

Jetzt ist die Treppe fertig. Das nächste was hier kommt, sind Blumen und ein kleiner Gemüsegarten an den Seiten. Aber wir sind gerade in  der “Sonnigen Saison” des Jahres und müssen erst mal auf den Regen warten, damit es optimal laufen kann. In der Zwischenzeit werden wir  uns -unter anderem- mit der Ernte von Mandarinen, Orangen und Kaffee beschäftigen.

Firsts guests, Friends and Eucalyptus tree

Antes de mostrarles la próxima parte de la construcción de los baños, déjenme mostrarles un par de cosas que pasaron mientras estábamos construyendo los baños.

Desde fines de enero comenzamos a recibir alojados en el hostal! mientras seguimos trabajando haciendo mejoras sin parar.

En enero  Sergio Rodríguez (alias Silvio Rodríguez), un amigo de La Paz, vino a pasar y disfrutar unos días en el hostal y también a ayudar a terminar de armar las camas. Gracias por la ayuda sergio!

 

Bevor ich den nächsten Teil über die Konstruktion der Bäder veröffentliche, werde ich euch erst mal über ein paar Dinge berichten, die sich parallel zum Ausbau ereignet haben.

Ende Januar haben wir unsere ersten Gäste empfangen! Zu dieser Zeit waren wir noch mit ganz verschiedenen Projekten beschäftigt.Im Januar kam Sergio Rodríguez (auch bekannt als Silvio Rodríguez), ein Schulfreund aus La Paz, um ein paar Tage zu helfen und die gemütliche Atmosphäre des Hostels zu genießen. Er half uns bei der Montage der Betten. Danke für die Hilfe Sergio!

 

Before I post the next part of the construction of the bathrooms, let me show you a couple of things that happened while we were building them.

On the end of January we started receiving guests at the hostel! And in the same time we were still working on different projects.

In January came Sergio Rodriguez (also known as Silvio Rodriguez), a school friend from La Paz, to spend a few days at the hostel and help to finish assembling the beds. Thank you Sergio!

En esos días también vino visita de Hamburgo : Torsten y Felix! Quienes también ayudaron con algunas cosas en el lugar y deleitaron unos días con su compañía. Gracias chicos!

Sie halfen bei vielen Dingen mit und sind ein paar Tage geblieben, um den Ort zu genießen.Ich danke euch beide!

Durante esos días hicimos también un trabajo que tenía que ser hecho desde ya un tiempo… y era el de cortar el árbol de eucalipto que desafortunádamente estaba creciendo muy cerca de la casa y sus raíces estaban dañando la construcción.. Así que tuvimos que cortar al monstruo de más de 20 metros de altura que tenía sus dos hermanos de por lo menos 15 metros… Las cosas no fueron fáciles, ya que los árboles estaba muy cerca a la casa  y si caían al lado equivocado, podían dañar varias cosas…

During those days we did a job that had to be done since long time ago … and that was to cut the eucalyptus tree which unfortunately was growing too close to the house and its roots were damaging the building… So we had to cut the monster of over 20 meters high and his two brothers that had at least 15 meters… This job was not easy, because the trees were very close to the house and if they had fallen on the wrong side, they could produce several damages in the house… The pictures will tell you the rest

In diesen Tagen haben wir uns um eine Arbeit gekümmert, die schon seit einiger Zeit auf uns wartete …  der Eukalyptusbaum, der unglücklicherweise ganz dicht am Haus gewachsen war, musste geschnitten werden. Seine Wurzeln haben das Gebäude bereits beschädigt, doch um noch Schlimmeres zu verhindern, mussten wir diese Arbeit leider angehen… Das Monster von über 20 Meter Höhe und seine beiden Brüder, die mindestens um die 15 Meter hoch waren, mussten wir  irgendwie abschneiden. Kein leichtes Unterfangen! Wäre der Baum zur falschen Seite gefallen … welcher Schaden dann am Haus entstanden wäre … die Bilder sprechen für sich

Bathrooms part 2/3

January has started and has passed very quickly. Many things happened in this month, one of those was working on the toilets construction… followed by many new ideas.

Enero comenzó y avanzó con una velocidad record. Muchas cosas pasaban en este mes… una de ellas era que el trabajo con los baños iba progresando y cada vez surgían más ideas de como se podía ver.

Die ersten Wochen des neuen Jahres waren sehr ereignisreich, und die Zeit verging wie im Flug. Ein ganz wichtiges Ereignis im Januar und Februar war sicherlich der Bau und die Fertigstellung der  Toiletten und Duschen, verbunden mit vielen neuen Ideen, wie sie aussehen sollten.

In den ersten Tagen des Monats Januar hatten wir das Fundament der Toiletten fertigt gebaut, und die Vorbereitungen für den Bau der Wände folgten nun. Das Fundament zu bauen war gar nicht so schwierig wie ich anfangs gedacht hatte. Man muss die gewünschte Form aus Holz basteln, diese mit Steinen füllen, Platz für die Abwasserrohre lassen, und die Mischung aus Zement und Sand darüber gießen.

In the first days of the month the foundation for the toilets were finished and we were ready to start building the walls .

To build the foundation was in the end not as difficult as I thought… You just need to build a wooden case with the desired shape, fill it with stones leaving space for the drainage pipes and pour the mixture of cement and sand on it and between the stones.

Con los primeros días del mes, ya estaban listas las bases del suelo para construir sobre ellas lo que serían las paredes.

El trabajo de hacer las bases pues resultó más fácil de lo que creí… solo había que formar la estructura con piedras, hacer una caja con las medidas de que quieres obtener, dejar espacio para las cañerías y después rellenar todo con la mezcla de cemento y arena. La mezcla es de tres partes de arena y una de cemento para obtener el concreto sólido.

Nachdem der Zement getrocknet ist, nimmt man die Verschalung ab, und somit hat man das Fundament mit der gewünschten Form. Das haben wir insgesamt viermal gemacht.

Después de que seca el vaciado, hay que quitar las maderas y ya está la forma deseada y así se sigue a la siguiente base y luego la siguiente hasta tener todas las que necesitamos que en nuestro caso serían cuatro.

After the cement has dried, you have to remove the wood from the form… and so we have the foundation in the desired shape!  We made the same thing four times for the four bathrooms we were building.

Después de tener las bases listas comenzamos a poner los ladrillos, cosa que pues es un trabajo interesante y que requiere también bastante paciencia ya que hay que poner cada ladrillo con exactitud midiendo la distancia de uno a otro y viendo si están rectos. Esto de hace con la ayuda de un hilo y un nivel de agua.

Lo que se hace es poner mezcla de cemento de una altura de como 2cm y encima de esta se ponen los ladrillos uno por uno midiendo altura, nivel, etc. Luego se pone el próximo a su lado dejando una distancia similar a los 2cm. Después de terminar toda la línea, se comienza la próxima fila sobre esta de forma intercalada…. Esto se repite hasta llegar a la atura deseada y no olvidando hacer la forma para poner los marcos de las puertas.

Ones we had the four foundations ready, we started to build the walls with bricks. This work is in my opinion very nice  because it needs dedication and a lot of patience. For every brick we put, the distance to each other and the height must be precise and at the same time the level has to be exact. For this work we use a spirit level and thread.

Danach ging´s los mit dem Errichten der Wände aus Ziegelsteinen. Eine sehr schöne Arbeit, die große Genauigkeit und sehr viel Geduld erfordert,  da man für jeden Ziegelstein den genauen Abstand und die Höhe berechen muss, und gleichzeitig auf das Niveau aufpassen muss, damit die Wand nicht schief wird. Für diese Arbeit benutzten wir einen Faden und eine Wasserwaage.

What we do is to put the cement in a height of about 2 cm and the bricks on top in a line with each other with the same distance of 2cm. Every brick must have the same height and the same distance to each other.  Then you do the same thing again on top of the next line of brick and then again until the wall is at the desired height and we would not forget to leave space for the door frame.

Zuerst wird der Zement ca. 2 cm hoch verteilt und darauf legt man die Ziegensteine in einer Linie, im Abstand von ebenfalls 2 cm. Jeder Ziegelstein muss die gleiche Höhe haben und exakt gerade liegen. Dann macht man das gleiche nochmal obendrauf, und dann nochmal, bis die Wand die gewünschte Höhe hat. Allerdings darf man dabei nicht vergessen, genügend Platz für die Türrahmen zu lassen!

During the work on the walls, we also connect the water pipes for toilets, showers and sinks.

Während der Arbeit an den Wänden, muss man auch gleichzeitig die Wasserleitungen für Toiletten, Duschen und Waschbecken verlegen.

Cuando ya estaban  listas las paredes,  comenzamos a poner lo que es el suelo y para este usamos las piedras que ya teníamos que eran las que sobraron de otro trabajo anterior ya que son las piedras que hay en la zona y se las consigue cortadas de formas deferentes.

Als die Wände dann fertig waren, wurden die Abwasserrohre verlegt und das Ganze zubetoniert.  Jetzt konnten wir anfangen den Boden zu verlegen. Dafür haben wir flache viereckige Steine benutzt, die es bei uns in der Gegend zu kaufen gibt.

When the walls were finished, started working on the showers and bathrooms floor. As material  for the floor, we used flat square stones that you can buy on the way from La Paz to Coroico… they are rocks from the Andes!

Después de que el suelo está puesto con el declive deseado, pasamos a decorar las paredes un poco para que tengan un estilo rustico que convine con el ambiente de plantas que hay alrededor. Estas piedras que usamos también son de la zona.

Nachdem der Boden fertig verlegt war und das gewünschte Niveau hatte, wollten wir die Wände noch etwas anders gestalten. Dafür haben wir Steine von unserem Grundstück benutzt, weil sie wunderbar zu den Pflanzen und Umfeld passen.

After the floor was finished with the desired level, we began to work decorating the walls. We have also used stones that we have around in our land and it looks good with the atmosphere of plants.

While the walls were being decorated, we started to prepare the material that we would use for the roof… For the roof, we wanted to use the roof panels that had taken from the old roof out (see Back al it/De vuelta al trabajo http://wp.me/p2Hj8o-5c).  But before we can use the old roof panels for the new roof, we need to clean them first and paint them with a special waterproof paint… The work sounds easier as it is!

Nun fehlte nur noch ein Dach. Hierfür benutzten wir die Dachplatten, die wir vom alten Dach rausgenommen hatten.  Allerdings mussten wir diese – um sie für das neue Dach verwenden zu können, erstmal saubermachen und streichen … das hört sich einfacher als es ist!

Después o mientras este trabajo estaba siendo hecho, pues había que alistar el techo para cubrir la obra. Para el techo estaba planeado usar las laminas Duralit que estaban en el viejo techo de la casa de la cual cambiamos el trecho hace unos meses atrás. Antes de poder usarlas para los baños teníamos que limpiarlas y pintarlas… suena más fácil de lo que en realidad es!

Haciendo el trabajo de pintar pues se me ocurrió cambiar la forma del techo de la forma que ya estaba pensada y pues procedí a poner el techo y hacer la prueba de como se ve con esta forma.

Para poner el techo se pone primero una especie de escalera hecha de madera para apoyar las lamina de duralit con las maderas a una distancia en las que estas puedan sostener el techo y este pueda ser ajustado a la estructura.

También, para que entre luz del día a las duchas y baños puse en una parte del techo láminas de plástico que dejan pasar la luz.

Building the roof

While I was  painting the panels I had the idea to change the shape of the roof and I just proceeded to build it to take a look and decide if I like it with this new form.

Before you can put the roof panel, you have to construct a kind of wooden ladder, putting the beams in a distance where they can sustain the roof panel.

To use and have daylight for the showers and bathrooms, I used some plastic roof panels that let the light through.

Damit in die Toiletten und Duschen Tageslicht reinfällt, haben wir durchsichtige Dachplatten geholt.

Bathrooms first part… And Happy new year to everyone!

 

To open the hostel and attend the of all the rooms… we knew that would need another extra bathroom and we knew long ago that this project is one that eventually had to be build soon or later.

After being thinking about many ideas how to build the toilets and where…I made a design how I thought the toilets should be…. The idea was to build thee toilets and three showers for the people of the big dorm and the cyclists from La Paz  who may come to the hostel for lunch and showers.
      Um das Hostel eröffnen zu können , müssen wir noch  zusätzliche Toiletten und Duschen bauen. Das war uns schon länger klar.
Und  dafür hatte ich vor einiger Zeit dann dieses Modell entworfen … Die Idee war, drei Toiletten und drei Duschen zu bauen, für das große Zimmer und  die Radfahrer, die  täglich aus La Paz  kommen, und duschen oder Essen wollen…

 

Para que el hostal pueda estar abierto atendiendo al los clientes con fluidez… se necesita tener otros baños extra.  Sabíamos que este proyecto es uno de los que tarde o temprano teníamos que hacer para abrir el Hostal.

Este proyecto lleva ya un tiempo en planificación. Después de pensar en un montón de ideas de como realmente construir los baños hice un diseño de como se podrían hacer… La idea era tener tres duchas y tres inodoros para los alojados de los dormitorios grandes o para los que llegan en bicicleta de La Paz y quieres ducharse…

After things were a little difficult at the beginning of December, and the time passed very quickly, I’ve made a second model that could be built quicker and easier.  In this model the bathrooms are behind the house
 Nachdem sich nun die Situation hier seit Anfang Dezember verändert hat,  und die Zeit sehr schnell verging, habe ich mich für ein zweites Modell entschlossen, das einfacher und schneller gebaut werden kann. In diesem Modell sind die Bäder hinter dem Haus.

About a week ago Felix came to work on the project (Felix worked here before building a couple of things) and that’s how the project began: First you need cement … Each bag weighs 50 kilograms ...

Vor etwa einer Woche kam Felix nach Coroico zur Unterstützung. (Felix hat schon früher bei uns gearbeitet.) Und so ist der Verlauf: Zuerst brauchen wir Zement  … Jede Tasche wiegt 50 kg

Hace como una semana vino Felix a trabajar en el proyecto( felix trabajo antes aquí construyendo un par de cosas) y el proyecto ya va avanzando… Aquí les puedo explicar el procedimiento : Primero se necesita cemento… cada bolsa pesa unos 50 Kilogramos…

Después se necesita bastante arena y piedras para hacer la base del fundamento… y tambien ladrillos

Then we need a lot of sand and stones to make the base of the foundation… and bricks as well.

Wir brauchen viel Sand und Steine, um das Fundament zu bauen … auf Ziegelsteinen.

Teniendo los materiales el próximo paso es el hacer una caja de madera y poner las piedras adentro para hacer el suelo firme antes de vaciar el cemento encima. También hay que dejar espacio para las cañerías… ya que tenemos que mover estas después… solamente pusimos un tronco de plátano para que el cemento no llene el espacio donde tienen que ir.

Ones we have the materials the next step is to make a wooden box and put the stones inside to make a solid ground before pouring cement over. We must also led some space for the pipes… we did´nt put the pipes in the beginning because we need to move them later  … we only put a  banana trunk to led the space… so the cement does not fill the space where the pipes need to go.

Wenn alle Materialien vorhanden sind, ist der nächste Schritt, eine Holzkiste zu basteln und die Steine ​​in der Kiste zu platzieren, um einen festen Boden zusammen mit dem Zement für das Fundament zu  bekommen. That day we were visited by a small snake … I don´t know what kind of Snake it is or if it is poisonous,  it is the first time I see one here.

An dem Tag haben wurden wir von einer Schlange besucht … ich weiß nicht, welche  Art oder ob sie giftig ist. Es ist das erste mal, dass ich hier eine Schlange sehe.

Important News about the Hostel! Now in English, German and Spanish 

Hello to all readers and followers of the Blog. First of all I wanted to inform you that the project ” Hostal Chawi” had a very unexpected changes:

 Unfortunately a few weeks ago ( on December 06.12) Erin suddenly decided that this is not what she wants and a couple days after that she  left the project to go back to the USA.

 As crazy as it sounds, the project undergoes a radical change! with a really unexpected situation for me and the Hostel.

 

 

And  I wanted to say  (me Inti) that after Erin left the project ( on December 06.2012 five mounts after we started ) this place is still being a home for me because I left all my other things in life behind to come here with Erin an built this Hostel: my live in Germany, my family in Germany, the possibility to see my daughter again,  my job at Mercedes Benz in Germany, my friends in Germany and everything I had built in in the last ten years in my life… so it was a difficult decision for me to stay here alone in this project, because I thought maybe to go back to Germany and recover my life there, but I have just  made too much to come here with Erin to build this place that I want at least to try.

I´ll continue building the hostel and I am starting to build a new Life!

I´ll put soon more pictures an stories about how are things going with the project  the last days!

This is my home now

Hallo liebe Leser und Anhänger des Blogs, ich möchte euch mitteilen, dass sich für das Projekt “Hostal Chawi” eine sehr unerwartete Veränderung ergeben hat:

 Vor ein  paar Wochen  hat sich Erin plötzlich entschieden, dass dieses Projekt und Leben nicht das ist, was sie möchte. Sie hat das Projekt verlassen, um in die USA zurück zu kehren.

So verrückt  es klingt… es ist eine sehr unerwartete Situation für mich und das Hostel!

Und ich möchte sagen, dass, nachdem Erin am 06.12.12 ( fünf Monate nach Beginn) das Projekt verlassen hat, dieser Ort  mein Zuhause bleiben wird. Ich habe viele Dinge, die mir wichtig sind, zurück gelassen:  mein Leben in Deutschland, meine Familie dort, die Möglichkeit meine Tochter wieder zu sehen, meine Arbeit bei Evobus, meine Freunde, und alles was ich in den letzten zehn Jahren meines Lebens aufgebaut habe…Also es war eine schwere Entscheidung für mich hier zu bleiben, aber ich möchte es ausprobieren.

Ich werde weiter das Hostel bauen und ab jetzt starte ich auch ein neues Leben !

Bald folgen mehr Bilder, und ich werde berichten, wie es hier weitergeht.

Muñeca stays with Inti

Hola a todos los lectores y seguidores del Blog. Antes que nada quería informarles que el proyecto “Hostal Chawi” tuvo algunos cambios muy inesperados:

  Lamentablemente hace unas semanas (el 06.12.12) Erin decidió de repente que este proyecto no es lo que quiere ahora y un par de días después  repentinamente ella abandonó el proyecto para volver a los EE.UU…

Tan loco como suena, el proyecto sufre un cambio radical e inesperado! Realmente algo que esperaba vivir.

Y después de que Erin abandonó el proyecto quería decir que este lugar seguirá siendo un hogar para mí, por que dejé todo lo que tenía en mi vida atras para hacer este proyecto en Bolivia con Erin: deje mi vida en Alemania que construí los últimos diez años, la posibilidad de volver a encontrarme con mi hija, mi familia en Alemania, mi trabajo en Mercedes Benz en Alemnia, mis amigosy mucho mas… y pues sí! Fue una decisión difícil el quedarme aquí solo en el proyecto, ya que creí en tal vez volver a Alemania a cecuperar mi vida apenas perdida allá… pero pues… es que recién dejé tantas cosas de mi vida para poder venir a construir este lugar con Erin que por lo menos quiero intentarlo solo!

 Desde ahora este proyecto no solo será el construir un Hostal… más bien se convirtió en construir una nueva vida que al comenzar el proyecto era in imaginada!.

Back at it / De vuelta al trabajo

Happy (belated) Thanksgiving, friends! 

The pre-opening was a real achievement, and it left us feeling satisfied and energized. But we both knew that after it was over, it would be time to buckle down again. There were still a couple important projects we’d postponed that would need to be finished before we could permanently open our doors to the public.

La pre-apertura fue un logro para nosotros, y nos dejó con buen sabor de boca. Sin embargo, sabíamos que después de este evento, sería hora de trabajar otra vez. Todavía había un par de proyectos importantes que habíamos pospuesto que tenían que terminarse antes de que pudiéramos abrir el negocio permanentemente. 

We started with the roof. For months we had known that the roof needed to be replaced: it had been infiltrated by rodents and cracked in several places by an overgrown bougainvillea, making it vulnerable to leaks.

Empezamos con el techo. Por meses habíamos sabido que había que remplazar el techo: una planta de buganvilla había crecido hacia la casa destruyendo algunas partes del techo y dejando entrar agua. 

We had climbed up to take measurements and analyze the work involved, and had even purchased new Duralit roofing panels, but lacked the impulse to start the project just the two of us. Fortuitously, Inti’s mother arrived in Coroico one day with an employee she had hired to help us, and just like that, the work began.

Nos habíamos subimos al techo para ver qué arreglos deberían hacerse, y hasta habíamos comprado laminas de Duralit, pero nos faltaba dar el paso de empezar el proyecto nosotros solos. Afortunadamente, la madre de Inti llego a Coroico un día con un albañil que había contratado para ayudarnos, y así dio comienzo el proyecto.

We added a few new wooden beams to strengthen the underlying infrastructure of the roof and enable the installation of the roofing panels. Inti and the workers spent an exhausting, sweaty week of up on the roof under the blaring hot rays of the sun.

Añadimos un par de maderas para asegurar la infraestructura del techo y apoyar las láminas. Inti y los albañiles pasaron una semana dura y sudorosa encima del techo, bajo el sol ardiente. 

From dawn until dusk they measured, cut and drilled the heavy panels into place, carefully hand-fitting each one. By the end of the week, they were all a bit sunburned and fatigued, but the new roof was almost completely installed.

Desde el amanecer hasta el atardecer medían, cortaban e instalaban las pesadas láminas, poniéndolas cuidadosamente en la posición adecuada. Al final de la semana, estaban todos un poco fatigados, pero el nuevo techo estaba casi listo. 

The workers returned to La Paz for Todos Santos (a national holiday which falls near Halloween), and the two of us spent a couple more arduous afternoons drilling the ridge panels into place. We’re still waiting for the shipment of the remaining panels from La Paz, but it feels good to have 90% of a new roof over our heads. Not only did it save us from the nuisance of managing constant leaks just in time for rainy season, but it brought a whole new vibrancy to the patio!

Los albañiles volvieron a La Paz para Todos Santos (el día de los muertos) y nosotros dos pasamos un par de tardes más perforando y asegurando las cumbreras. Todavía estamos esperando las últimas láminas de La Paz, pero se siente muy bien tener el 90 por ciento del techo firme y seguro. No sólo nos salvó de tener que lidiar con goteras justo antes de que llegue la época de lluvia, sino que también le dio mucha vida al patio.

While Inti and the workers were laboring away on the roof, Erin dedicated herself to various renovations. First, she grouted the downstairs bathroom that Inti had tiled in September.

Mientras Inti y los albañiles trabajaban en el techo, Erin se dedicó a varios proyectos de renovación. Primero, puso cemento blanco entre los azulejos del baño que había puesto Inti en septiembre.

Then, she began renovating one of our private rooms. The walls were covered in crusted cement from sloppy brick-laying—a state not even power-sanding could remedy. Painting the walls didn’t appeal to us because we really wanted to maintain the rustic feel of the room, so we found a compromise. Erin painted a thin layer of paint over each brick individually, covering the cement stains but leaving the grout between bricks intact.

Siguiente, empezó a renovar uno de los cuartos privados. Las paredes de ladrillo estaban cubiertas con cemento que había chorreado y luego secado, y no se podía quitar ni siquiera con amoladora. Pintar las paredes no nos agradaba porque queríamos mantener el estilo rustico del cuarto, así que Erin pintó cada ladrillo, cubriendo las manchas de cemento pero dejando expuesto el espacio entre cada ladrillo.

 

Next, Inti joined in and with a coat of cream paint on the empty wall, a few adjustments to the doorjamb, a little stucco worked into the cracks in the ceiling, a little sanding and varnishing of the window frames… listo! The room felt warm and welcoming.

Luego vino a ayudar el Inti, y con una capa de pintura color crema a la pared vacía, algunos arreglos a la cerradura de la puerta, un poco de estuco puesto en las rajaduras del tumbado, y unas tardes de lijar y barnizar los marcos de las ventanas… ¡listo! La habitación se sentía cálida y acogedora.

After the roof project, Inti went to work applying stucco to damaged areas of the ceiling indoors and on the underside of the awning. The indoor work could be done with a ladder, but reaching the awning was a more challenging feat. With a little ingenuity, Inti and Don Nasario (our 89 year-old neighbor) erected some wooden scaffolding.

Después del proyecto del techo, Inti se puso a estucar las áreas dañadas del tumbado y la volada. El trabajo en el tumbado se podía hacer con escalera, sin embargo alcanzar la volada era algo más desafiante. Con un poco de ingenio, Inti y Don Nasario (nuestro vecino que tiene 89 años) construyeron un andamio de madera. 

 

 

Lastly, we decided on a location for our outdoor bathroom and shower complex, and began clearing it. We dug out some rotten plantain trunks, removed some big rocks, and weeded the whole area.

Por ultimo, escogimos un lugar en la propiedad donde vamos a construir los baños, y comenzamos a limpiar el área. Sacamos algunas plantas de plátano, quitamos algunas rocas, y deshierbamos todo el lugar. 

In the coming weeks we’ll have the help of Erin’s father Alan (our first project volunteer!) pouring a foundation and constructing the bathrooms. We can’t wait!

En las semanas que vienen, tendremos la ayuda del papá de Erin, Alan (nuestro primer voluntario del proyecto) para vaciar la base y construir los baños. ¡Estamos muy emocionados!

The Pre-Opening / La pre-apertura

On Tuesday, October 16th, Inti and his family spent a grueling morning in La Paz loading 14 tons of goods (82 roofing panels, a washing machine, a freezer, a stove, an oven, a barbeque, 4 toilets, a 500-liter water tank, 7 tables, 30 chairs, 4 benches, 17 bedframes, 17 mattresses, 2 dressers, and a bunch of groceries) like puzzle pieces into one gigantic truck.

El martes 16 de octubre, Inti y su familia pasaron toda una mañana agotadora en La Paz cargando 14 toneladas de bienes como piezas de un rompecabezas a un camión gigante (82 láminas para el techo, una lavadora, un congelador, una cocina, un horno, una parrilla, 4 juegos de inodoros, un tanque de agua de 500 litros, 7 mesas, 30 sillas, 4 bancos, 17 catres, 17 colchones, 2 roperos, y un montón de víveres).

In the afternoon, the truck made its way along the winding road the 3-hour journey from La Paz and pulled up outside our door in Coroico! A few very sweaty hours of extremely intense heavy lifting later, we had managed to move everything onto the first floor of the hostel and were drinking hibiscus iced tea in the shade as the sun went down over the mountains.

En la tarde, el camión llegó desde La Paz hasta nuestra puerta en Coroico. Un par de horas duras de labor exhaustivo después, habíamos logrado mover todo al primer piso del hostal y bebíamos té helado en la sombra mientras se atardecía. 

On Friday October 19^th, people from all over the country began pouring into town for the annual Festival of Coroico. Marching bands and dancing groups paraded through the streets all day long. Our original goal to open on Saturday the 20^th had given us a concrete date to push toward and really kept our momentum going in the project, however it turned out to be a little too ambitious. We opted just to open our restaurant and bar, and to focus our energy on preparing our rooms for overnight guests at a later date.

El viernes 19 de octubre, gente de todo el país empezaba a llegar al pueblo para el festival anual de Coroico. Bandas y grupos de baile desfilaban por las calles todo el día. Nuestra meta original de abrir el sábado 20 de octubre nos había dado una fecha límite para inaugurar y nos había dado energía en el proyecto, sin embargo resultó ser un poco ambiciosa con tanto que hacer en tan poco tiempo. Optamos por abrir solamente el restaurante y bar, y así enfocarnos en alistar todas las habitaciones a una fecha más tardía.

The days leading up to our pre-opening event, though chaotic, were filled with excitement and adrenaline. First, we hung a banner above our main entrance, unveiling for the first time our official hostel name: Hostal Chawi. Chawi (rhymes with Maui) is a word from the indigenous language of Aymara, meaning “meeting place.” It also refers to the point where various streams cross just above our property. We chose it because it’s simple, easy to remember, symbolic, and also represents our local neighborhood.

 Los días antes de la pre-apertura, aun caóticos, también estaban llenas de emoción y adrenalina. Primero, colgamos un banner encima del porton, revelando por primera vez el nombre official de nuestro hostal: Hostal Chawi. Chawi es una palabra del idioma indígena de Aymara que quiere decir “lugar de encuentro.” También se refiere al punto donde se juntan las aguas justo encima de nuestra propiedad. Escogimos este nombre porque es sencillo, fácil de recordar, simbolico y además representa la zona.

We fashioned a structure out of tree branches to support the flowery vines on the patio, renovated and painted the patio bathroom, and set up a cooking station, barbeque and bar for the event.

Construimos una estructure de ramas de árbol para apoyar las flores del patio, renovamos y pintamos el baño del patio, y armamos una cocina, parrilla, y bar para el evento.

We were absolutely astounded by how beautiful the patio looked with all our new furniture!

¡Estábamos muy impresionados de lo bonito que se veía el patio con todos nuestros nuevos muebles!

By Saturday evening the barbeque was hot, the salsa music was playing, and we were freshly showered and ready to go. We waited with anticipation, but customers were nowhere to be found. By the end of the evening, we had only served a few plates of food and cold drinks. We would later discover that this year’s festival was a disappointment for business owners all over town: tourists were scarce, the young crowd that usually comes into town for the festival simply didn’t show, townspeople consumed their own food and beer, and most out-of-towners came briefly for Friday night and had already gone home by Saturday (likely to attend the partido clásico, a big soccer game in La Paz between two rival teams). Lousy luck for us!

 El sábado en la tarde, la parrilla estaba calienta, tocaba música de salsa, y estábamos recién duchados y listos para trabajar. Esperábamos con anticipación, pero los clientes no llegaban. Al final de la noche, solo habíamos servido un par de platos de comida y long drinks. Después, averiguamos que el festival de este año fue una gran desilusión para dueños de negocios en todo el pueblo: hubo escasez de turistas, la gente joven que solía asistir simplemente no vino, la gente del pueblo traía sus propias bebidas, y la mayoría de la gente de otras regiones apareció brevemente el viernes y ya se había ido el sábado (probablemente por el partido clásico en La Paz). ¡Mala suerte para nosotros!

In the end, we viewed the evening as a success. We achieved our goal of opening on the 20^th, we got a taste of how gratifying it feels to have our hostel up and running, and we spent a lovely evening together eating barbeque veggie kebabs and sipping Cuba Libres. Actually, it was a fantastic dress rehearsal! For us it was less about drawing a crowd and more about proving to ourselves that we could reach our goal—and boy did that feel incredible. We couldn’t be more proud of all our hard work in the last few months, or more excited about what’s in store for us in the months ahead. And we feel that if we continue to stay true to our values, follow our creative intuition and work hard to build something beautiful, the rest will follow. This is only the beginning of the wonderful adventure that lies ahead!

Al final, vimos el día como exitoso. Logramos nuestra meta de abrir para el 20 de octubre, experimentamos el sentimiento de hacer funcionar el hostal, y pasamos una noche encantadora juntos sentados en las mesas nuevas sintiendo el aroma de las flores que cuelgan en el jardín y saboreando la comida—acompañada de una deliciosa Cuba Libre. En realidad, fue un gran ensayo general. La meta fue menos para atraer una muchedumbre y más para probarnos a nosotros que pudiéramos lograr esto—y eso sí que se sentía satisfactorio. No podríamos estar más orgullosos de todo el trabajo duro que hicimos estos meses, ni más emocionados por lo que nos espera por delante. Y sentimos que si continuamos siguiendo nuestros valores e intuición creativa, y trabajando duro para crear algo bonito, lo demás llegará. ¡Esto es sólo el principio de una aventura que se escribirá durante muchos años!

The big renovation / La renovación grande

September was a very busy month for us, and October has been even busier! Now with our unofficial opening day just a week away, there’s never a dull moment on-site. Our giant truckload of furniture & appliances is arriving in a couple of days, and by next Friday there will be guests sipping beer on our patio during the annual Festival of Coroico. What a whirlwind!

 Septiembre fue un mes muy ocupado para nosotros, y octubre ha sido aun más ocupado. Ahora sólo falta una semana para la apertura in-oficial del hostal, y hay mucho que hacer. En un par de días llegará un camión con todos los muebles del hostal, y el próximo viernes habrá un montón de clientes tomando cerveza en nuestro patio durante el festival de Coroico. ¡Qué increíble!

We’ve spent the last six weeks renovating our first floor, which is not only the floor which will accommodate the most people, but also the one that was in need of the most repairs. And so, in early September, we grabbed our paintbrushes & power tools and geared up for some hard, dirty work.

 Pasamos las últimas seis semanas renovando la planta baja de nuestro hostal, la cual no es sólo el piso que acomodará a la mayoría de nuestros huéspedes sino que es también el piso que requería la mayor cantidad de reparaciones que debían ser hechas. Así que a principios de septiembre, agarramos nuestras brochas y herramientas, y nos alistamos para recibir a las semanas de trabajo duro que venían.

One wall and part of the ceiling stretching along the entire building had suffered water damage during several years. The window frames had rusted, paint was flaking off the wall, and sizeable chunks of concrete crumbled right off when we tried to sand the wall. We had our work cut out for us!

 Una pared y parte del tumbado de toda la planta baja habían sido dañados por agua durante varios años. Los marcos de las ventanas estaban oxidados, la pintura estaba desconchándose de la pared, y pedacitos de cemento se caían cuando intentamos lijar la pared. ¡Obviamente había mucho que hacer!

We started by removing unstable parts of the wall and carefully re-cementing them.

Comenzamos quitando las partes inestables de la pared y cementándolas de nuevo.

Then, we sanded off chipped and peeling paint, smoothed the exterior with stucco and coated the whole wall in a thick layer of sealant and several layers of fresh paint.

Luego, lijamos las paredes dañadas, las alisamos con estuco y tapamos toda la pared con sellador y varias etapas de pintura fresca.

The other walls hadn’t been harmed by water, but they needed a little facelift. We patched cracks and flaws in the walls with stucco, and then gave the walls a good wash and a brand new paint job.

Las otras paredes no se habían dañado con agua, pero igual se necesitaban algunos pequeños toques. Reparamos todas las rajaduras en las paredes con estuco, lavamos las paredes y las pintamos.

Inti sanded off dirt and imperfections from each brick on the wall, one by one. When he was done, the wall was good as new!

Inti usó la amoladora para lijar cada ladrillo de la pared, uno por uno. ¡Cuando terminó, la pared brillaba como si fuera nueva!

The bathroom had also suffered water damage. We sanded, patched and painted the walls, and then manually measured and cut dozens of ceramic tiles to cover the floor and shower.

Agua había entrado al baño, dejando manchas y dañando muchas partes de la pared y suelo. Lijamos, reparamos y pintamos las paredes, y luego medimos y cortamos docenas de azulejos para cubrir el suelo y la ducha.

Just outside our downstairs entryway, Inti covered a section of exposed bricks with cement and smoothed it out. With a little paint, we turned a derelict doorframe into a vibrant entryway!

Al lado de la puerta de abajo, Inti cubrió una sección de ladrillos expuestos con cemento y la alisó. Con un poco de pintura, ¡logramos convertir una entrada aburrida en un lugar alegre y vivo!

 

At the end of a long day of work, some of us were just doggone tuckered out!

Al final de un día largo de trabajo, algunos de nosotros estábamos simplemente agotados.
