the Story

Welcome to The Hostel blog!

We are a young international couple (USA/England, and Bolivia/Germany) who have moved to Inti’s native country to start a hostel. Let us tell you a little bit about how we ended up here.

In 2010, when the opportunity presented itself to us to move to Bolivia and open a hostel, we were so ecstatic about the idea that we finished our studies and started saving up as fast as we could. Finally in July of 2012, we left our lives behind and we moved here to Coroico, Bolivia, where we have been working on the hostel ever since. This project combines our mutual interests and offers us a canvas to express the creative ideas that we’ve always hoped could become real. It is also deeply representative for us; after all, it was in a hostel in Guadalajara, Mexico where we first met and fell in love back in 2009. Hostelling has a special place in both of our hearts, and we are thrilled to be entering the world of international travelers once again, this time from a new angle.

We want to dedicate this blog very specially to all of our friends and family who support us in this leap of faith; to the traveler’s spirit that lives within each one of us; and of course, to the hostel that we hope will not only be our livelihood, but also our passion, our joy and our home.

Actually Erin left the project ( on December 06.2012 five mounts after we started the project). Right now Inti is running the Hostel alone.

I´ll continue building the hostel and I´am starting to build a new Life!

Welcome to the crazy story of building a Hostel in Coroico Bolivia!

Hi, I am my boyfriend are thinking of the same. I visited Coroico once and just couldn’t take it out of my head. I wonder if you are still running your hostel and if you would be willing to meet us in February of next year (2016). I will bring him there because we are tired of living a life where we cannot do what we really want, spread good vibes through our talents in arts and science. However, it does make me feel a bit nervous about it. It is a big step, I hope It will be become clear to em after my second visit next year, it will be my third time in Bolivia. I really love it.

How’re thing going up/down in Coroico?

things here are fine. We have a lot of customers and the tourist season has just begun. To be honest I only stay at the hostel and go to the market a couple times every week. We have winter and it means that we will have sun every day and just less rain till October.
